Being Good Christians

The times have really changed since we were children. There is more and more temptation out there every single day, and frankly, I feel for today’s Christian children. When I was growing up, it was not very difficult to stay devoted to Christian teachings. There were wholesome programs on the television, women and men dressed appropriately, and Christians went to church regularly like clockwork. In the past few decades, things have really changed and believe me when I say it has been for the worse.

At times I feel as though I am acting against my Christian beliefs just by flipping through the television channels. The smut that can be found on T.V. today gives “boob tube” an whole new meaning. People dress more scantily clad going to school, the store, or even church than those that worked in brothels in my day, that is just how bad it has gotten. There is no wonder why there are Christians that begin to question their faith. If my mother or father were around today, they would think that the apocalypse had come and that everybody had been replaced by creatures from outer space.

Just because things have gotten bad does not mean that this is irreversible. As Christians, it is all of our duties to make sure that our country is put back onto the right track. How do we do that, you ask? Here is how, my friend:

1. Spread good old fashioned Christian principles – Christians of the older generation remember how great it was when people still had an undying love, as well as fear, for the Christian God. We need to remind people that God is watching everything you do and there will be repercussions for your actions. It seems as though the people of today have just simply forgotten about the big guy upstairs.

2. Remind people that God forgives – Just because today’s women are promiscuous and men are philanderers does not mean that they are doomed to a life of hell. They need to realize that there is still hope for them, as long as they turn to their Christian God for help and beg for forgiveness. Christians are more than willing to accept people that are able to admit that they want a change in their life.

3. Teach today’s youth – With so many distractions in the popular media, children may be getting the wrong idea about being Christians. It is not possible for a Christian to live without a care during the week, go to church on Sunday and bam, they are good Christians again. A good Christian acts accordingly 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. There is no break from being a Christian.

Us Christians need to be the catalysts in bringing back the days when you could walk down the street without getting an eyeful of somebody’s buttocks. Those days will return in the near future.
